Glock 48 Price Guide: What to Pay in 2025 (MOS, Rail, Slim)
Price Distribution
The Glock 48 has quietly become one of the most popular carry guns on r/gundeals. It gives you a Glock 19-length grip (10+1 rounds with flush mags, 15+1 with Shield Arms S15 mags) in a slim, single-stack-width frame. If the Glock 19 is the Honda Civic, the G48 is the Civic Si — same reliability, just sleeker.
Here's what the deals actually look like and what you should be paying.
Glock 48 Variants: Know What You're Buying
Glock has released several G48 variants over the years. The key differences matter for price:
- Glock 48 (standard) — No optics cut, no accessory rail. The original slim carry gun. Cheapest variant.
- Glock 48 MOS — Factory optic cut for micro red dots (Holosun 507K, Shield RMSc pattern). This is what most people want now.
- Glock 48 MOS w/ Rail — MOS optic cut + accessory rail for a weapon light. The most versatile version and the one we'd recommend for most buyers.
What to Pay for a Glock 48
Based on deals tracked from r/gundeals:
- Glock 48 (base): $349-$399 is a solid buy. Under $349 is excellent — grab it.
- Glock 48 MOS: $399-$449 is typical. Under $399 is a strong deal.
- Glock 48 MOS w/ Rail: $429-$479 is normal. Under $429 is worth jumping on.
The MOS rail version has the best long-term value because you can add a dot and a light without buying a new slide or frame. If you're buying new, spend the extra $30-50 for the rail model.
Glock 48 vs. Glock 43X: Which Slim Glock?
The G48 and G43X share the same slim frame width and use the same magazines. The difference is barrel/slide length:
- Glock 43X: Shorter slide (subcompact length). Easier to conceal, slightly snappier recoil.
- Glock 48: Longer slide (compact length). Slightly better accuracy, softer recoil, more sight radius.
Our take: if you're appendix carrying, either works. If you have any preference for accuracy or plan to add a compensator later, go G48. Most people won't notice the concealment difference.
Best Accessories for the Glock 48
Shield Arms S15 Magazines — 15 Rounds in a Slim Frame
The single best upgrade for any slim Glock. Shield Arms S15 mags give you 15 rounds in the same form factor as the factory 10-round mag. You'll also want the Shield Arms steel mag catch (the factory polymer catch wears against steel mags).
- S15 Gen 3 mags: ~$35-40 each. Buy at least 3.
- Steel mag catch: ~$20. Required with S15 mags.
Red Dot (MOS models)
The G48 MOS takes Shield RMSc-pattern optics. Best options:
- Holosun 507K: Best value. Multi-reticle, solar backup, shake-awake. Usually $220-260 on sale.
- Holosun EPS Carry: Enclosed emitter for $280-320. Better for pocket carry and harsh conditions.
- Shield RMSc: The original. Fine but the Holosun options are better for most people.
Weapon Light (Rail models)
For the railed G48:
- Streamlight TLR-7 Sub (1913): Best value at $100-120. 500 lumens, fits flush.
- SureFire XSC: Premium option at $250+. Lower output but bombproof.
